Uh oh, Joanna is on the move! Last Thursday, Joanna woke me up at 1:00 AM with a very angry sounding cry. I was immediately confused because she has been sleeping through the night for some time now. I plopped myself out of bed to see what could possibly be so important at such an early hour. Well, I turned on the lamp and found Joanna face down in her sheets, kicking her legs and waving her hands in a furious atempt to flip herself back over! I was so shocked to see her in this position, that I litterally stopped to rub my eyes to make sure I was seeing her right--she had finally learned to roll over! I know I had mentioned in a previous posting, that Joanna was rolling from her front to her back, well, she decided she didn't want to do that anymore and I haven't been able to get her to roll ever since. So now, just shy of 5 months, she has decided to change tactics and roll from her back to her front. Since Thursday, I have found her on her stomach everytime I go into her room to get her up for the morning or up from a nap. She will even roll over to grab her toys or to get a better view of something that has caught her eye. The only problem now, is that she still cannot figure out how to get herself back onto her back once she has rolled, so Randy and I usually have to perform a "Joanna flop" (sneaking into her room, quickly flopping her back onto her back and then shuffling out undetected) a few times before she settles in for the night. Needless to say, we are getting the baby proofing items ready....it won't be long now before she will be rolling all over the place!
