Next stop....Fayetteville, NC.
The following morning we made the final stretch to Hilton Head Island! We had such a wonderful vacation, visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Heusser, taking walks on the beach, playing in the sand and eating till we couldn't eat anymore!
Her favorite things to do at the beach were to wiggle her toes in the sand and...
We ate lunch at a restaurant called The Pirate House. It was an actual pirate hang out hundreds of years ago. It had been restored and converted into a very cool place to eat! After lunch, we took a stroll along the river and visited some of the local markets. The city was busy making preparations for their famous St. Patrick's Day Parade/Celebration (one of the nation's largest!). Unfortunately, we were a day too early to see them dye the river green, but we did manage to see some of the local fountains spouting green water!
We enjoyed beautiful weather during our trip to Savannah, which made the local squares look like something out of a movie set!
Back on the island, we continued to enjoy the life of beach bums :) Here are Grandma and Grandpa Heusser having fun with Joanna on a bench swing.
Yep mom, I think this float will be perfect for my first swim in the pool!
We weren't sure how Joanna would react to her first plunge, so far so good.....
Okay.....I think I dig this....
Hey! Why didn't we do this sooner!? I am having waaaayyyy too much fun!
We had a wonderful time in Hilton Head. Joanna had many firsts on this trip and we made a lifetime of memories together! We can't wait to do it again!
