Here are some pictures I took of Joanna's first coloring experience!
I was a little nervous about handing over the crayons....in my mind, I pictured steaks of color all over the table and chairs, waxy teeth from eating half of the crayons and shreds of paper thrown all across the dining room....to my surprise (and relief) Joanna was very civil about the whole experience. :)
I laid out the giant pad of coloring paper, took out a couple of crayons and braced for the color chaos that I imagined would ensue.....and this was what I got instead!
You can almost see her thinking 'gosh, mom sure is acting funny about this -- wonder why she is cringing???'
And she's off! Here is Joanna making her first mark on the paper.

Add more crayons to the bunch, and she is well on her way to her very first masterpiece!

'No worries, mama. It says here that these crayons are non-toxic and completely washable...'

And, just to prove how wrong I was about how I thought this whole thing would play out -- here is Joanna PUTTING AWAY her crayons when she was 'ahhhhhh duhhhhh' :)
