HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Randy, Joanna and I are very happy to announce that our little boys have arrived! Wyatt Thomas and Sean Robert were born on Monday, January 4. Wyatt was born at 3:25 pm and weighed 5lbs 3oz and measured 18 3/4 inches long. Sean followed closely behind -- he was born at 3:35 pm and weighed 5lbs 7oz and measured 19 inches long.

The labor and delivery went very smoothly. I actually was scheduled for my 36 week OB appointment that morning and ended up being sent directly to the hospital from my appointment because I was already 4 cm dilated. By the time I got to the hospital, hooked-up to the monitors and settled into my room, the doctor checked me again and I was 6 cm dilated (in 2 hours). I received an epidural and waited about another 2 hours before the doctor checked me again and said that I was completely dilated and ready to push (only 4 hours after walking into the hospital)!! The nurses wheeled me over to the OR where I pushed for 45 min and delivered Wyatt without incident. 10 min and 3 pushes later, Sean was born. Both boys were healthy -- no need for any medical attention although they were about 4 weeks early. We stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and were able to come home on Wednesday morning!

I am so grateful to have had such a safe and smooth delivery -- words cannot express how thankful I am for that! My recovery has been going very smoothly and we are just so in love with our little guys! It is just so amazing to look at them and to think that the two of them were in my belly just a few days ago -- so incredible!
