MY HOW TIME FLIES!

What a crazy holiday season! I don't even know where to start....

My sister, Kayla, came out to visit Joanna and I on Decemeber 14th. We had a wonderful visit! I know Joanna was relieved to see a new face and to show her auntie all of the new things she had learned since Thanksgiving.

The three of us then flew back to Arizona on the 18th. This was Joanna's third flight and she handled it like a pro! Once we arrived in Arizona, we kept busy "doing the rounds"--visiting friends and family that we did not have time to see over Thanksgiving. I know I was starting to run myself ragged, but Joanna didn't seem to mind one bit.....with all the hugs and kisses, I guess it's hard to complain!

Joanna's first Christmas was great (although it wasn't the same without Randy). Joanna ended up sleeping through most of the day, but she was still able to find time to enjoy her new excersaucer! We spent Christmas Eve with the Heusser's. Joanna had a great time with her cousins Russell and Emily...I know the three of them are going to be a riot when they get older! :)

January 11th I flew back to New Jersey (leaving Joanna with my parents and Randy's parents) to meet Randy when he landed from his deployment!! The squadron bussed us out ot the flightline (runway) where I was able to watch as Randy taxied the jet to its parking space--so cool! It was such a wonderful homecoming--although I hardly recognized Randy when he got off of the plane....he had grown a huge, bushy mustache!! Yuck! I had him shave it pronto :) We had that weekend to ourselves and took full advantage by catching a train up to NYC to have dinner and see the Braodway show, Chicago. What a great time! Randy and I then flew back to Arizona on the 14th.

The look on Randy's face when he saw Joanna was priceless! He couldn't get over how much she had grown in the 2 months that he was gone. Unfortunately, she was asleep when we got off the plane, but once she woke up, she was all smiles! I was so worried she was going to cry when she saw Randy, but I honestly think she remembered his voice because as soon as he said Hi she gave him a HUGE smile (so precious!). We spent the next 10 days in Arizona then made our final flight back home to NJ on the 26th.

Joanna is now 4 1/2 months old. She had her 4 month check-up yesterday and passed with flying colors. She weighs 15lbs 4oz and is 26 1/2 inches long (which, funny enough, is the 99th percentile). I started giving Joanna rice cereal about 2 weeks ago. She seems to enjoy it, although I can never predict how much she is going to eat on any given day. She has become quite a chatterbox and is discovering how to squeel like a dolphin :) Joanna has decided to stop rolling over for now and instead takes more delight in rubbing her face in her blanket or on her stuffed animals--haha! All is going well! I promise to keep this more up to date now that we are home and back into a routine :)
