Please Touch

A couple of weeks ago we ventured out to the newly remodeled 'Please Touch Museum' in Philadelphia (yes, the same museum John and Kate Plus 8 visited) after hearing from a friend that the museum so generously offers FREE admission to military families!! 'Please Touch,' as the name implies, is a kid's wonderland....a place where any and everything can be poked and prodded without a single reprimand!
Once we got to the museum, Joanna's legs where reeling before she could even touch the ground. As soon as her feet hit, she was off! It really must have been a sight to see -- two parents dodging exhibits, kids, and other parents in an attempt to chase after their child -- Joanna only stayed at an exhibit long enough to touch it and then she was off to the next thing. Luckily, it only took about 20 minutes for her to slow down and realize that she was not on borrowed time, like she had to quick touch everything before mom and dad realized that she had 'escaped.'

Once she came to the conclusion that she was free to roam and free to touch, we were able to enjoy ourselves even more. Here are some pictures from our day!

As soon as we let her go, she ran straight for the bus. You can almost see the overwhelming urgency in her eyes.....'daddy, a buuuuuuuuuuussss!!!' Joanna points out every single bus we pass while driving in the car :)

Next stop, a pit-stop. Here is the picture I was able to snap as she jumped in and then right back out of the racing car....on to the next thing!

A mail truck, but don't tell Joanna that. She obviously thought it was a convertible :)

Like I said, she eventually slowed down a little bit. Here we are shopping at the museum grocery store. She actually put a lot of vegetables in her cart!

Time to check out! This was perfect for Joanna because she loves to put things on the conveyor belt when I take her shopping.

Phew! A chance for us to catch our breath. Joanna just sat and sat on this goose -- it was just the right size for her I think :)

Of course, Joanna had to test out the slide!

Who says a garden cart has to be for hauling around plants!?

Sitting down for tea at the Alice in Wonderland exhibit

We finished off our wonderful day at Please Touch with a couple of turns on the carousel. I think Joanna's face says it all -- we had an amazing time, but boy did we sleep good that night!
