October - Fest!

Is it really almost Halloween!? Where is the time going!? A lot has happened on the milestone marking front at the Heusser household this month. First, the boys sprouted a few pearly whites :) They both got their two bottom teeth within days of each other. A few weeks later, they began getting in the top canine teeth....yes, that right, their canine teeth came in first on top! So, now our little munchkins look like vampires just in time for Halloween! Next, Wyatt and Sean began crawling -- Wyatt was first to crawl (around the last week of September) and Sean, in usual fashion, followed close behind and started crawling about two weeks later! Lucky for me, the boys were nothing like their sister when they started crawling -- Joanna took off like a rocket the second she figured out how to move forward...the boys, just kind of take their time and aren't in any rush to get away from me :) Joanna also started going to a new preschool here in California! She was so excited to find/start a new school that she could hardly contain herself when the BIG day arrived. I knew she would have no trouble fitting in with her new friends and teachers, but I didn't expect to have to flag her down on her first day just to get a goodbye kiss from her! So far, things are going really well for her in her new classroom -- she is going 2 FULL days a week, which has been great for me and the boys -- her only 'challenge' (according to her teacher) is having the patience (joanna, patience!?) to sit still and quietly during the kids' nap time....Joanna gave up naps about 2 months ago -- naps were literally the only time of the day she was not moving, so now that she doesn't take them, she is constantly moving....so, at school, I can only imagine what kind of trouble she is giving her teacher....we have been 'practicing' sitting still and being quiet at home -- but honestly, she has her father's genes (times 10) and it really is a fruitless effort....if she could, she would sleep standing up.....jogging in place....
Other than reaching these milestones, we have also been busy exploring our new neighborhood and have come across some really great things to do! So, to celebrate October (and some of September) here it is in a photo-fest!

Wyatt loves to play by himself in the tent with the flaps closed....I guess when you're a twin, you really value your 'me' time :)

The aftermath of a very exhausting walk around the neighborhood...these hills are killer!

I think this was one of her very last naps before her boycott...I guess she wanted to celebrate by wearing her crown. My Sleeping Beauty!

Joanna and I at the Travis Block party -- there was food, music, bounce castles/slides, horses, and a ton of fun!
Joanna loves her brothers!

They don't seem nearly as excited as Randy and I were about finding these astronaut pajamas (which are also going to double as their Halloween costumes) -- Randy was obsessed with astronauts when he was a little boy, I think he secretly wishes that came in adult sizes :)
