One Month Old

Today marks the end of Joanna's first month. She has developed so much over the past weeks it's hard to even remember how small and helpless she was at first. We had her hip ultrasound last week and the results showed that her hips are normal, so we don't have to worry about her click anymore (the doctor thinks it is just a loose ligament that will tighten as she gets older). Joanna actually did really well during the ultrasound--I think she liked having her sides massaged by the ultrasound wand.

Joanna is smiling more and more each day. She really enjoys staring at the stuffed ladybug I have on her changing table--I have even caught her a few times "talking" to it.

I don't think it will be long before she is able to flip from her stomach to her back. She can almost get there now, but doesn't seem to understand how to move her arm out of the way.

Joanna's cord FINALLY fell off yesterday. Randy is away on a short trip, so I have been holding off on giving her her first bath until he gets home. Hopefully we will be able to make that happen tomorrow night. Randy's family will be coming to visit this weekend--I know Joanna is anxious to meet everyone.
