Joanna has wasted no time jumping head first (literally) into her second year of life! She has figured out how to climb up on the couch and love seat all by herself and she very quickly figured out that you actually have to learn how to get down (you can't just close your eyes and jump)! After a few bangs and tumbles she has now perfected the 'get down' method....scoot slowly to the edge of the chair with your bottom firmly planted, once you get to the very tippy tip of the edge, slick you legs straight down and let gravity take hold as you slide down and pray that there is ground below to catch you! :)
As you can see, Joanna now has 6 teeth! She has cruised through this teething thing without too much of a fuss (which I am very thankful for). Although I hear that those canines can be a doozy, so I guess I shouldn't speak too soon!

Joanna has tossed away her formula, bottles and baby food and has moved on to big girl straw cups and finger food! I originally thought that Joanna was a very good eater and wasn't very particular, however, since we have switched her to 'grown up' food, she will ONLY eat grilled cheese, pancakes and waffles! Although she doesn't mind fruits and vegetables, I can't get her to eat a piece of meat to save my life! :) Luckily, I think she is warming up to protein....I was able to get her to eat a quarter of a turkey burger yesterday! wahoo! (who knew I would get be so excited about of watching someone eat turkey)
Joanna is still working hard at forming words. Other than the standard momma, daddy, Lady and baby, she surprised us the other day when she blurted out the word "SHOOWZ" (shoes). Ever since then, she has jumped at any occasion to help us put on her, mine or randy's 'shoowz'. I just hope she doesn't become too attached to shoes, because she is inevitably going to be heart broken when she becomes a teenager and finds out that it is nearly impossible to find shoes in her size!!! (believe me, I was!) :)
